Thanks to everyone who joined us for another spectacular festival! Niagara Celtic continues to grow and adapt into a stronger event every year. We look forward to bringing new groups in the future to continue strengthening our goal of educating visitors with Celtic heritage. We are appreciative of those who continue to support our efforts by attending, and who stay no matter the weather (a little rain on Sunday didn't scare many away)! Ideas are already brewing for exciting new additions next year - see you in 2023!

Losing a year to the COVID-19 pandemic, our teams dedicated themselves to bringing back Niagara Celtic to finally celebrate our 20th anniversary festival in 2021. The result was one of our best weekends ever! We appreciate everyone who joined us in celebration, and were patient as we continued to learn and navigate around our new home. In so many ways, the event was one for the recordbooks, and a great foundation for us to grow on.

2019, Sept. 14 & 15: 19th Annual Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival & Highland Games

Our 19th year was adventurous, as we shifted our focus onto the survival of our festival while strengthening it in ways we had been unable to previously. It was our first year at the Niagara County Fairgrounds, a new host location which treated us wonderfully as we braved the monumentous task of rebuilding and restructuring our event. As has often happened over the years we fought challenging weather all weekend, which left our hard working teams struggling to keep everything flowing smoothly. We are proud of the many achievements and successes we did have, and look forward to continued upgrades to show our guests the great promise our volunteers can see at our new home. We hope for a bright future that, through the continued efforts of our amazing community and Celtic festival family, may allow Niagara Celtic to flourish in WNY.

2018, Sept. 15 & 16: 18th Annual Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival & Highland Games

Once again we had beautiful weather, record attendance, and an all-around perfect gathering and celebration of Celtic heritage and culture! This weekend also held a bittersweet edge for many behind the scenes, knowing it would be our last year celebrating Niagara Celtic at Krull Park in Olcott. The lakeside park was the perfect home to grow and cultivate the festival, which succeeded beyond many's wildest dreams. Unfortunately, by 2018 we had severly outgrown the park in terms of space, ammenities, and proper event logistics. We have also been unable to introduce anything new for many years because the grounds were so full. So the difficult decision was made to relocate to a place where the festival could once again grow and thrive. To honor the park, 'The Parting Glass' was the final song played, on the final day. As the sun set, Kirk McWhorter of Penny Whiskey sang the great farewell, as we toasted the wonderful memories so many of us carry of our times at Niagara Celtic in Krull Park. Farethee well Olcott, until we see thee again...

2017, Sept. 16 & 17: 17th Annual Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival & Highland Games

Our 17th year was our biggest yet, with record totals in guests, participation, attractions and sell-out food, drink and wares! We thank the thousands who enjoyed a wonderful weather weekend with their loved ones, as always helping to create the unique 'homecoming' feeling that so many experience during their visit. We are blessed to have such wonderful and friendly guests and participants join us each year, who are always ready to make new friends and share their love of all things Celtic. We look forward to bringing the same atmosphere next year, along with more plans to help everyone continue celebrating the magic!

2016, Sept. 17 & 18: 16th Annual Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival & Highland Games

When the rain came each day, it poured. Our amazing participants and guests have dealt with rain for 3 years, and no longer let the trivials of nature stop from celebrating. We are so thankful to everyone who stuck around and celebrated Celtic culture in a 'family reunion' setting.
Saturday's lengthy shower ended just as the sun set on Lake Ontario, and two rainbows appeared overhead. In 2015 & 2016 our festival has sat under full double rainbows...a perfect symbol of luck, or success, or Mother Nature watching over us. Or maybe our ancesters are watching over us all, smiling down as we all gather together and celebrate life, love, and friendship.

2014, Sept. 13 & 14: 14th Annual Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival & Highland Games

As often happens during festival weekend, weather wasn't on our side. Saturday ended up the coldest we've ever had, and combined with chilly rain it made for a difficult first day. We're so grateful to everyone who ignored the cold and joined us anyways! By the late afternoon the rain had passed, and we had one of our most memborable Ceilidh's ever. Sunday was much nicer, including the return of the sun. This helped us see the largest guest totals we've ever had on our second day. It was a wonderful time for all! Now as we look towards our 15th year, for the first time ever have a bit of a hurdle to meet our financial goals. We hope for successful fundraising efforts throughout the year to help ensure our festival continues with the same quality and surprises our guests deserve. We truly can't wait to celebrate this wonderful marker of 15 years!
